BOWEN WEDDING

& the coicidences

this all started as a- “I saw your work & wanted” yadda yadda. Dustin and Alyssa traveled to Tulsa last fall to shoot at our famous Mayo Hotel, while we were blindsided by some inconveniences, we persevered and got some amazing film-documentary-style photos. I found out then how much FUNNNNN these two humans are.

Then this April, the day began at a family property, with coffee & all the good vibes. It was a perfectly sunny overcast, perfect temperature for a mid-spring outdoor, Kansas wedding. The couple is from a town 10 minutes from mine, so the morning was filled with “DO YOU KNOW XYZ” and “DID YOU EVER MEET ABC”. It was about a 50/50 chance that I knew who the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and family were talking about.

I loved these details shots and love when I'm not rushed while taking them. My lovely sister showed up to shadow me about this time. There are quite a few of her photos throughout the gallery.

Alyssa’s stepfather helped built a QuickTrip on my direct route to work. WILD. We carried along the day capturing the wedding party in the various activities throughout the day. The sentimental mom moments I ask every bride and mom to do, always pull on the heartstrings. The first looks were also full of fun and happy tears.

WE LOVE A GOOD CRY.

The ceremony was not your typical ceremony, this couple is the life of the party so should I have expected anything else?? They had a beer-uniting ceremony & several speakers to attest to the strength of their love.
The fun carried on over into one of the BEST receptions. From a great selection of drinks, food, and desserts, Fun music, and of course tear-jerking speeches.

but for me, I was like NO WAY. The best man, who happens to be the brother of the groom talks about their time working BOH. For those of you who never sacrificed and don’t know what that means it means Back of House of something. then he says RIBCRIB. so I start doing timeline math of what he is saying. WE WORKED THERE AT THE SAME TIME. That was the start of my serving career, WILD AGAIN.
Overall you can ask anyone who knows this couple, they are THE life of the party. They are genuinely hilarious, loving, and beautiful. Cant wait to see them in front of my lens again. We love capturing love. I want to give a special thanks to my sister for braving the day with me.
